Teach a Community to Cook Classes at Marty's Market
Slow Food Pittsburgh & Marty’s Market Present:
“Teach a Community to Cook” (TACC) classes for Youth and Adults
If you want to learn to eat fresh, healthy foods then you need to learn to cook. Come to this class and learn to cook a simple vegetable and grain dish. When kids learn to cook they gain needed life skills to make healthier choices. When adults learn to cook they can take advantage of cooking fresher foods for themselves and their families.
Slow Food Pittsburgh Members (www.SlowFoodPgh.com) Rosemarie Perla and Kelsey Weisgerber are committed to teaching the next generation of children the “natural art of cooking” and training adults to “cook it forward”. They are offering a series of classes for youth ages 8 - 15 years of age and their family members - see date and times below.
Two classes presented simultaneously: one for the adults and one for the youth. Both classes will teach ways to cut (knife skills) and cook delicious vegetables to make a simple, healthy recipe. Children and adults will leave with a recipe, increased knowledge and skills as well as a special gift from Marty’s Market.
